Hi Raphael .. thank you so much for all the time and effort you have put in to collating the SCD videos on your website. It's wonderful to be able to watch Brendon Cole as one of the professional dancers in SCD, as he is one of the judges on the New Zealand version of DWTS.

hey shelley. i take it u live in newzealand. i live in england therefore we dont get the newzealand version here.
interested to know what sort of a judge brendan is ? is he harsh , becoz during season 2 when he got a 1/10 he was very mad saying you should never give a one , at least 3's and 4's. so does he dish out many 1's and 2's ?

Hi Asjad .. here is a link to the DWTS website (hopefully it will show up as a link, otherwise you will have to just copy and paste the url) and the Season 2 episode recaps. We've only had 2 seasons, first one in 2005 and the second one in 2006. I guess Brendan must have taken a chill pill since Season 2 of SCD (would that have been in 2004?), as he has definitely given at least one 1 for a celebrity - in fact all 4 judges gave 1's for that particular dance. Brendan can be harsh in some of his comments, but I think he does try to look for positive comments to make, and sometimes you just can't find any. When you see how passionate Brendan is about his dancing, and see how beautifully he does dance you can understand where he's coming from.

hey shelley , thanx for the link. is there a site with any full vid clips ?
why did that dance get 1,1,1,1 ? did they fall or was it just really really terrible. becase hat guys was getting 4,5,6 etc.. in his other dances so what happened. having looked at the mark all thge judges seem quite consistent with bad perfomances usally being given a 4 - which is fair ( except for that 1.1.1.1) which seems a bit of an anomaly ?

That particular dance was really bad, although I thought the four 1's were a little unfair. Basically the celebrity should not have still been in the competition. There were 2 other celebrities that were eliminated earlier, that were much better than Rodney, but unfortunatey Rodney was getting the public vote - not because of his dancing ability or popularity but because a lot of people were getting a laugh out of it. The scores and the comments never seemed to faze Rodney, he was just happy to be raising money for his nominated charity. Kinda ruined it bit for me because I would have preferred to see the 2 eliminated celebrities dance some more. I think the judges may have decided to try get rid of Rodney once and for all with their scores, and the public must have finally gotten sick of him.

Haven't seen any full length clips on the internet. I did have the episodes recorded on video, but unfortunately they have been well and truly erased by now - well before I discovered the joys of this wonderful site and YouTube. Will see if I can find any elsewhere, but don't really expect to. Not sure when the next season will start, but will try to sort something out by then.

              Hi asjad

Not sure if you look at the digitalspy.co.uk forum for SCD or check out YouTube, but someone has started putting up videos from series 3 of DWTS NZ.

Try searching for YouTube for DWTS3 and that should bring up the NZ videos. If you go to the Brendon Cole thread on the digitalspy forum board for Strictly Come Dancing, you will find the links to the videos - I think they start getting listed around page 606

              cheers
              Shelley

hey Raphael thanx for da amazing vids!!!! I love the Strictly come dancing vids!! ummm, in season 3. Darren & Lilia's Paso Doble song is Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood. In both week 4 & the finale the song is "Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood" by Santa Esmeralda. He made his own version of the Animal's "Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood." Here is a link to Santa Esmeralda's version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dvu7mRTwKtQ

I could be wrong, but it sounds so much likethis one. Cause in Dancing with the stars they used the orignal version, and it sounds way different.
Thanx again for uploading these vids!! I love Lilia, I wish she could come to Dancing with the stars.

Thanks for the great site. The stats are interesting, particularly the difference in the judges scores between SCD & DWTS; Len Goodman is the highest scoring judge on SCD, but the lowest scoring judge on DWTS. Do you think there needs to be tougher judges on the American version?

      ur absoloutely right kathy.

im speaking from england and have watched evry series of SCD. the fact that len is considered as the harsh judge is laughable - the judges in america are all very generous. we have 2 judges ( craig and arlene ) who are very harsh and regulary excercize paddles 1-5. on dwts full marks is achieved too frquently and too easily on scd only twice in 4 series have full marks been awarded, so yes they need one judge added to the ppanel i think craig would be an excellent addition as he speaks the truth and only give a 10 for perfection unlike len bruno and carrie ann

Thanks Raphael for posting all the videos. I really like the SCD series. I noticed in season 4 week 12, clicking the picture for Mark and Karen's Samba brings up Matt and Lilia's quickstep.

This is a great site, thanks again.

Mark & Karen come in about half way through. It was a sort of dance off to the same song.
