Well the size of this blog entry has exceeded the maximum allowed by the Fotki blog feature, so I created a separate blog dedicated to Dancing With The Stars. The blog has a separate entry for each eposode so you can leave comments just for that episode.

The point of these videos is to make them good enough to see the performances by streaming over 384k or higher internet connection speed. I am not trying to produce DVD-quality videos here for downloading purposes. (The download link is provided for people with lower than 384k internet connection speed for downloading aforementioned files.)

I've downloaded the videos to watch on the computer, and watching them again has made me learn more about what to look for in dance and made me appreciate the talent of the professionals that much more. You have done a great service for all of us who want to learn more about how to watch the dances.

Guest Beluve wrote: Tuesday, January 10, 2006 11:09 AM Greetings, we are again at another season of DWTS. And I love it! Thank you so much for posting videos! I had a question for any dancers out there, What did you think of Tony and Stacey's "american smooth" waltz, and do you think that all the celeb's should do the same style? ie: all american or all international. I ask because Tony's comment about Len not knowing the "american smooth" style is something to think about. I know alot of "traditional" international standard people think American Smooth is not the real deal. (I personally enjoy both styles)
Just wondered what others thought.
Thanks Raphael!!!!
Guest Stephanie wrote: Thursday, January 12, 2006 11:44 PM I believe the show allows the pros to create choreograph that's a mix of International and American style. And it's probably true that the difference is lost on most of the show's audience, so I don't think Len should be so picky about preferring International style over American when it comes to judging. (Joey and Ashly's Foxtrot first season comes to mind.) Personally, I think it's fine to mix up the styles in this show. It demonstrates different elements of the dances.
Guest DanPhx64 wrote: Saturday, January 14, 2006 2:19 PM I think it's fine that there is a mix of styles.
American style introduces a lot of the flare that American audiences want to see - hence its origin in the first place.
I also think that Len "knows", he just likes International style better. I see no real benefit for Len to keep voicing his beef with the format of the show on air to people who have nothing to say about it. If Len doesn't like the format, he can quit - since he clearly doesn't have enough pull to make the producers change the show. Len's just another employee.

I love the site, it really helps me. But I was really disappointed when you didn't post the week 2 videos because normally I look at the videos on the site, and I choose the best to vote on dancing with the stars web page. Do you know when they will be on?
Raphael Pungin
wrote: Saturday, January 14, 2006 4:47 PM Hi Philippe. I should get them up by Sunday night.
Voting on ABC website stops by noon on the day after the show and I don't think I can guarantee I will have the videos up by then every week. That's why I have voting on my website, albeit it does not affect the dancers' ratings on the show.

Guest Dancin' Dodie wrote: Monday, January 16, 2006 8:47 PM Week 2 I was totally enthralled by Stacey K, George H. and Jerry R. I Thought Drew was a little over rated by the judges. His routine was okay, but I noticed several bad baubles and
his partner appeared to be leading alot.
As for P. Miller, well, He has absoluteley no business anywhere near a building that even houses a dance floor. His Partner deserves better. That big gallumping oaf should have been gone the first week. Tatum deserved alot better than she got from the judges, or the public. I was appalled by the results friday night. We can only hope that the veiwing public gets its good judgement back next time.
Guest carol wrote: Tuesday, January 17, 2006 12:11 PM Do you know why Charlotta from last season isn't participating this season? She was awesome. Do you think the oufits have an inpact on the judging? I couldn't really see much of Jerry Rice's footwork/posture due to the horrid dress his partner was wearing. Think that was worn on purpose to hide some flaws?
Guest Stephanie wrote: Tuesday, January 17, 2006 4:46 PM It seems like the pros who make it to the final round don't return the next season, since both Charlotte and Alec are missing this time around.
As for the costumes, I think they're designed only to add to the character of the dance. Jerry's Quickstep had more of a big band feel to it, so Anna's flapper costume went along with it. It wasn't the best costume ever, but I don't think anyone intended to hide flaws or anything.

Guest laurel wrote: Monday, January 23, 2006 5:15 PM Raphael, I join in all of the appreciation and gratitude being expressed to you for the DWTS videos which you have been so kindly posting.
So how is it possible to even think about asking you for anything more after you have already been so incredibly generous? I don't know. I make myself cringe at my nerve, but here goes:
Would there ever be any possibility at all that all of the dancers (stars & pros) talk show appearances could also be included on your site.
I know it would be an incredible amount of work but maybe there are some people out there who would be interested in being special correspondents and could help out.
It would be so wonderful if a visit to your site would let us follow along with the dancers as they go from appearance to appearance outside of the show itself.
But if this is outside the realm of possibility, well then so be it. You are already a legend with all of us appreciative dance fans anyway!
Again, many many thanks.

wrote: Monday, January 23, 2006 6:16 PM Hi Laurel.
It's a good idea to aggregate the videos of stars/pros on shows other than DWTS, but I can't afford the time to track these shows and record them and publish the videos on my website.
However, if anyone knows of a link to a webpage with videos or other content about the stars/pros related to DWTS, I'll gladly add it to my Links section on this page. Soon I'll add a button where people can submit a link that they found.

I think you are missing a choice in "what is ballroom dancing to you".
I can't afford ballroom dancing at the moment, but I have wanted to try it for years. So, I think it would be nice to have "not a ballroom dancer but might try it out sometime"

A question if I may. I was wondering why you've included Master P's introductory video vignettes with some of his dances while the other dancers' footage features their performances only?
Many thanks
