Appealing to all ages, this deliriously exuberant film looks inside the lives of 11-year-old New York City public school kids who journey into the world of ballroom dancing and reveal pieces of themselves along the way. Told from their candid, sometimes hilarious perspectives, they are transformed from reluctant participants to determined competitors, from typical urban kids to "ladies and gentlemen," as they strive toward the citywide 2004 Grand Final Team Match.

Providing unique insight into the incredible cultural diversity that is truly the soul of New York City, this film profiles several kids from three elementary schools who are at this dynamic and intriguing age when becoming that "cool" teenager vies with familiar innocence while learning the Merengue, Rumba, Tango, Foxtrot, and Swing.

Since ballroom dancing is one of my hobbies, I am signed up for many mailing lists with announcements on various dance events happening around New York City area. I decided to create a website and post that information there to share with the other fellow dancers. Although there are many other websites with various dance event calendars, those websites typically focus on certain dance style.
