Is this a palace? a museum? a hotel lobby?

None of the above! This is actually a panaramic view of nothing more than a station of the Moscow Metro (or subway as they call it in New York City). The stations of Moscow Metro are known to be the most beautiful in the world. Each station has its own unique design. My hometown St. Petersburg has the subway system very similar to the one in Moscow. So now you see how I felt when I first entered the New York City subway!

Ha ha, well these photos are an exception :) Actually, the original photos are bigger than the ones appearing in the journal. Click on Get Original Photos in the photos of this album
      http://rpungin.fotki.com/places/russia/moscow/metro/panaramas/
I set the picture size in this album to 800x600 so that they are bigger in the journal. Also they only appear when you click on the journal entry. If you see it in the list of all other entries of the journal, only the top smaller picture appears. Pretty slick eh? :)

As far as me being from St. Petersburg, come on!, you've been perusing my site for so long and have not gotten to the About Me page?

Yeah, I am happy about the journal changes too. It's fun to see the new comments in one place. Hope they will enable this for journal readers soon. I also hope for the RSS feeds of journals so that I could see everything in http://bloglines.com

It looks like in the last year fotki staff has been busy with the server-side improvements and now they are getting to the client-side - the stuff we can actually see.

Views are awesome! I heard that Moscow Metro is beautiful but I couldn't imagine it's THAT beautiful. I'm afraid I won't be able to use NYC subway any longer...
